    Oral surgery

    It is the surgical specialty of dentistry that includes the diagnosis and related treatment of a wide spectrum of diseases, wounds and esthetic aspects of the mouth and teeth.

    Complex extractions

    Sometimes any extraction can be complex due to the general health compromise suffered by the patient (coagulation disorders or hypertension among others) or due to anatomical difficulties of the tooth in question, in these cases the surgical skill of an oral surgeon is required to solve the problem in question.

    Extraction of wisdom teeth (wisdom teeth)

    Wisdom teeth, or third molars, are usually the last teeth to develop and are located at the back of the jaw.

    It is one of the most frequent procedures in oral surgery.

    Pre-Prosthetic Surgery

    Pre-prosthetic surgery is indicated prior to the placement of a prosthesis and consists of the conditioning of the hard (bone) and soft (gum) tissue of the bone to facilitate a correct fit of the future prosthesis.

    Braces surgery

    Braces are mucosal folds that join two contiguous mucosal surfaces, which can sometimes cause dental position, phonetic or periodontal problems.

    In these cases, a small and quick intervention is performed to solve problems that could lead to major problems in adulthood.

    The procedure is individualized, that is, each case is different, and the Platón Dental team will inform you of the protocol to follow, but it usually includes:

    The vast majority of patients have no problems with dental implants. However, there are some considerations that we have to evaluate before planning treatments:Anatomical difficulties, systemic diseases and psychological problems. That is why we consider that a correct evaluation of the medical history and a correct planning of the surgery are essential.

    There is no age limit for the placement of implants, however there are limits regarding the health status of the person.

    The minimum age for implant placement depends on the completion of the growth period.

    The surgical procedure of dental implantology is a procedure that we have well protocolized and usually our patients report minimal or no discomfort.

    A high percentage is performed under local anesthesia, like almost all dental treatments, generally the only thing that is perceived is a pressure and slight noise of the material used.

    In some people a greater predisposition to inflammation may occur after 24 hours of the intervention accompanied by hematoma, these are processes that do not represent any problem, they are a reflection of the biological response after the intervention.

    In patients with special fear or anxiety, or cases that require longer intervention time, we propose to perform the treatment under conscious sedation.
