Dental implants

Tooth loss has consequences in our daily life. It affects not only aesthetics, but also safety and self-confidence. Even in the most severe cases it can cause serious masticatory problems.

The cause of this loss is multifactorial; it can be mainly periodontal (pyorrhea) or restorative (caries).

When there is already an absence or the prognosis of the tooth does not allow its restoration, dental implants are an essential tool.

Implant dentistry consists of placing titanium dental implants that act as “roots” for future fixed teeth.

The diagnostic and planning tools we have at PLATÓN DENTAL allow us to place implants in patients with missing teeth, even in patients with large bone resorption.

All this thanks to a highly qualified team, which has state-of-the-art technology and the latest materials in dental implantology.

Tac Digital in 3D

It is a diagnostic tool that allows us to plan the treatments, making a virtual simulation of the future prosthesis (unitary/partial/complete) that allows an optimal position of the implants.

Thanks to the use of this technology, we are able to perform implant treatment in an efficient, fast and minimally invasive manner.

Teeth in one day

Immediate load dental implants: consists in the placement of implants and in the first 24 hours a provisional prosthesis is placed (whenever indicated). It provides an excellent esthetic and functional solution during the period of implant integration.

Minimally invasive surgery

The use of state-of-the-art materials allows us to perform procedures where there is little remaining bone in a simple and predictable way without making large bone grafts, thus shortening the course of treatments.

Dental implants offer both an esthetic and functional solution, restoring smile harmony and functionality.

Computer-guided implants

Another innovative system is computer-guided implantology. A virtual reproduction of your bone is made by means of a 3D CT X-ray and impressions of the jaw. This allows the implants to be positioned virtually, with the advantage of being able to place the dental implants without opening the entire gum. This entire protocol is so precise that it allows the prosthesis to be placed the same day. It also significantly reduces surgical and postoperative time.

Implants with little remaining bone

Lack of bone has always been a drawback in the optimal placement of implants.

There are multiple predictable techniques using combinations of bone substitutes and membranes that allow us to restore bone architecture. Without having to obtain bone from the patient, thus reducing the invasiveness of the intervention and generating favorable conditions for the placement of the dental implant.

Sedation

On certain occasions we meet patients with anxiety or even a certain fear of their visit to the dentist. This often results in a more damaged mouth, requiring more complex treatments.

At Platón Dental we make it a priority to avoid this fear by allowing patients to undergo all necessary treatments under conscious sedation.

The patient will cooperate at all times with Drs. without any fear or anxiety. An anesthesia specialist is available to monitor all vital signs at all times during the procedure.

Once the procedure is finished, the patient leaves the clinic without any inconvenience.

Frequently Asked Questions

The procedure is individualized, that is, each case is different, and the Platón Dental team will inform you of the protocol to follow, but it usually includes:

  • Initial phase and treatment planning
  • Surgical phase
  • Rehabilitation phase
  • Maintenance phase

The vast majority of patients have no problems with dental implants. However, there are some considerations that we have to evaluate before planning treatments: Anatomical difficulties, systemic diseases and psychological problems. That is why we consider that a correct evaluation of the medical history and a correct planning of the surgery are essential.

There is no age limit for the placement of implants, however there are limits regarding the health status of the person.

The Platón dental team will tell you what tests you need to undergo to verify if your health condition allows you to undergo the procedure.

The minimum age for implant placement depends on the completion of the growth period.

The team at Platón Dental will tell you what tests are necessary to diagnose failure to thrive because not everyone finishes growing at the same age.

The surgical procedure of dental implantology is a procedure that we have well protocolized and usually our patients report minimal or no discomfort.

A high percentage is performed under local anesthesia, like almost all dental treatments, generally the only thing that is perceived is a pressure and slight noise of the material used.

In some people a greater predisposition to inflammation may occur after 24 hours of the intervention accompanied by hematoma, these are processes that do not represent any problem, they are a reflection of the biological response after the intervention.

In patients with special fear or anxiety, or cases that require longer intervention time, we propose to perform the treatment under conscious sedation.
